New bungalows for Winterton

At Coates Avenue in Winterton, BREE Construction delivered 40 new affordable homes for Ongo Homes on land to the south of the existing avenue. The 5 million pound scheme formed part of Ongo's wider regional investment in bungalows, a 17 million pound programme intended to provide more than 70 single-storey homes for local people across the area, including in Doncaster.

The Winterton homes were brought forward under planning permission for the Coates Avenue site, secured through North Lincolnshire's planning portal, and were offered through routes including rent-to-buy. That approach opened the development to households looking for an accessible and affordable path into a new home in the town.

Handover and occupation

Families were welcomed into the completed homes when Ongo handed the scheme over, with the rent-to-buy application process launched ahead of move-in. The bungalow format made the homes particularly suited to residents seeking accessible, single-storey living, reflecting a growing demand that Ongo's wider regional programme was designed to meet.

Since completion, homes on Coates Avenue have appeared on the open market through national property portals, reflecting the settled residential community the scheme created in the DN15 postcode area. Coates Avenue shows the appetite for accessible affordable housing in smaller North Lincolnshire towns, and of BREE's role in helping Ongo Homes meet it through carefully delivered, quality homes.

Part of a wider regional bungalow programme

Sitting within Ongo's wider bungalow initiative, the Winterton scheme reflected a deliberate focus on a house type in short supply, giving older and accessible-need households the chance to remain in their community in a home that suits them. As a completed, occupied scheme, Coates Avenue underlines the value of building accessible affordable homes in smaller towns, and BREE's part in helping Ongo deliver them.
