Our heritage

From D T Bullock to BREE Construction.

Seventy years of British residential building, in continuous legal succession.

BREE Construction has descended from D T Bullock & Co incorporated in 1955 operating as a Construction Company. It was renamed in 1986 Bullock Construction, specializing in Housing, Care, Commercial and Education Sectors. It was known for its regeneration, refurbishment, retrofit and new build projects, operating across North West, North East, Yorkshire, Midlands, South West and Wales. Bullock Construction merged in 2014 with a Company called United House. Together they formed a new Company named United Living having the vision to become a National Market Leader providing Affordable Housing and sustainable Solutions. This strategic merger was designed to create a national player in the social housing and construction sector by combining Bullock’s regional strength in the Midlands and North with United House’s focus on London. In 2026 BREE Construction has become the new Owner with a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning over 40 years in the Construction Industry which strengthens its position as a Major Player. Creating high specification projects in the ever changing world of Construction incorporating Student Accommodation (PBSA), Build to Rent, Energy Efficient Developments to name a few areas within the expansion and challenges of new living Concepts.

The new Ownership also encompasses Partner Construction Limited which was incorporated in 2011 specializing in Affordable Housing and Partnership Developments across England. The quality was evidenced by an A1 rating awarded by both the NHBC and Premier Guarantee. BREE Construction will be your Trusted Partner for the full life cycle of Development. Our other Bree.

The name BREE is inspired by our German Shepherd puppy, Bree, whose name originates from the Irish meaning “strong”, symbolising resilience, reliability, loyalty, and determination at the core of the business.

Born in Scotland, based in England, with strong ties to Wales, BREE reflects a business founded on heritage, craftsmanship, and commitment throughout the United Kingdom.

Operating nationwide, BREE delivers projects across the UK with a strong focus on quality, integrity, and dependable service, values that define both the business and the meaning behind its name. Mid-century
    The founding

    D T Bullock & Co incorporated.

A family-run housebuilder is set up in the North West post-war, as Britain embarks on its largest civilian housing programme since the Victorian era. Incorporated as a private limited company, the legal entity that, seventy years and four name changes later, will become BREE Construction. The first decades focus on regional housing and care work for councils and registered providers across Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire, laying down a measured, numerate delivery method that still holds today.
