Extra care housing for Burton on Trent
Between 2010 and 2012, BREE Construction, then operating as Bullock Construction, delivered Chestnut Grange for Trent and Dove Housing, a 67-unit extra care development on All Saints Road in Burton on Trent. The 8.5 million pound scheme replaced the former Anglesey Court sheltered housing, which had previously stood on the site, with a modern facility designed for independent living with care on hand.
Chestnut Grange was conceived to give older residents homes of their own alongside the reassurance of on-site care and support. The scheme combined self-contained accommodation with communal facilities, allowing residents to retain their independence while accessing the help they needed as circumstances changed.

A scheme for independent living with care
The development opened as an operational extra care service, with care provision delivered by specialist operators and overseen through the relevant health and care frameworks. Staffordshire County Council awarded contracts for care services at the scheme, embedding professional support within the new homes.
Trent and Dove Housing has recorded Chestnut Grange among its delivered developments, reflecting its place in the association's portfolio of affordable and supported housing. For Burton on Trent, the scheme provided a substantial uplift in quality extra care accommodation, giving older people in the town a secure and supportive place to call home.
Chestnut Grange has continued to operate as an extra care scheme, a lasting marker of the regeneration of the former Anglesey Court site.
